Welcome to I-Brown.co.uk, the domain of videogames, anime, manga and Japanese culture writer Ian Brown. This site is a collection of the majority of my past work and where you will be able to see my current trends and thoughts on the entertainment niche that I inhabit.
Born in West Sussex, I have always been an avid gamer, receiving my first (and current) Sega Mega Drive for a present when I was so young I don’t even remember my age. After playing for months I finally completed Sonic 1 and since that day I have been not only a person, but a gamer.
At the age of 12, I then fell in love with a new medium, the medium of Japanese entertainment. This is not the tale of someone seeing Super Pig, or Sailor Moon for the first time; it’s the tale of seeing Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon for the first time and then falling in love with anime, manga and Japanese culture in general. In addition to my love for gaming. The two mediums tie in very nicely with one another and today many animes are turn into videogames after a successful TV debut.
At the same age of 12 I started scripting websites for The Legend of Zelda videogame series, this in turn led me to gain press access from Nintendo Europe and America at the tender age of 14 and before long I was blogging away with the best of them. Not long after this I debuted as the UK Writer for Zentendo.com and I worked my way through the ranks at Zentendo.com to become the News and UK Editor before leaving in early 2010.
In 2009 I started writing for Jade Screen Magazine, which is one of the UK’s premier magazines for Asian Cinema and I am the regular anime correspondent which requires working to strict deadlines to get the magazine to print on time.
